Vegan Sausage Gravy

Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, this Vegan Sausage Gravy is perfect for breakfast or brunch. Pour it over warm biscuits for a comforting, plant-based meal everyone will love!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 vegan sausages ground or diced small or 1 cup vegan beef or chorizo crumbles
  • ½ onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups unsweetened nondairy milk
  • ¾ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder

Instructions
 

  • Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the sausage or beef crumbles and onion, and saute for 3 minutes until the meat has browned and the onions have softened. Add the garlic, saute for 1 additional minute until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the sausage mixture in the skillet and toss with a spatula to coat everything with the flour. Slowly add the milk, stirring until incorporated. Bring just to a bubble and lower the heat to a simmer. Add the salt, pepper and chili powder. Simmer 2-4 minutes, or until the gravy thickens more. Taste and add more seasoning, if desired.
  • Use over biscuits.
